Our Story
From Granny's Pink Kitchen
to the trading floor.
I'm Cameron, one of the co-founders of Buffer. I grew up on the Saluda river with my two best friends (my siblings, Devin and Graham). Our great grandmother, Granny, was a little old lady living in Saluda, South Carolina. She taught us that slow living didn't mean being tired; it meant working hard, earning the slow, and never forgetting to laugh. She taught us that the best afternoons were the slow ones.
Years later I found myself in investment banking, staring down 90-hour weeks under fluorescent lights. The energy drinks on the desk were filled with chemicals, anxiety, and regret. There was no solution made for professionals... well at least the ones who worked at a desk and not a ski jump. I wanted something that felt like Granny's slow sunday afternoons, not the pit.
Buffer is that better solution. Adaptogens for the hours the work demands; nootropics to support the brain that does the work. Southern flavors for the person you still want to be at the end of the day. A buffer between rest and reality, built from the memories that made us, for the lifestyles that need them the most. The feeling of bare feet on warm wood, peach juice on your chin, jumping in the river, honeysuckle picked until you were too tired to stand all delivered straight to you. Your Buffer has never looked so good.
